Obsidian virtual specimen
A virtual specimen (3D model) of obsidian of which real specimen is from the physical geology laboratory, the Department of Geosciences at Mississippi State University. The glassy luster of obsidian is well represented in this virtual specimen. Obsidian forms when felsic lava cools very quickly and had no time to form any crystal.
